Despite claiming many times in different interviews that he would be running for US Presidency once again in the 2024 race, Joe Biden has now announced he will no longer be running for re-election.

This has led to, unsurprisingly, Republicans claiming that the current US President is not fit to continue his role and should resign if he is deemed by his own party to be unfit to run for re-election. However, it's unlikely that he will be resign and the likelihood is that he will finish his term as US President.

Current USA Vice-President Kamala Harris will be the person to replace Biden in the election race, and could pose more of a threat to favourite in the US next President odds, Donald Trump.

Check out all of the odds for next President of USA with our suggested online bookmakers below, and more on the US President election race.

Who is Favourite To Be Next USA President?

Now that Biden has dropped out of the race, Trump remains favourite but at longer odds than he was just hours ago before the announcement was made by the current US President.

Many UK online bookmakers currently have Trump to be the next US President at odds of 1/2 (1.5), while his latest challenger Harris has been dropped into odds of 21/10 with Betway seeing as she is most likely to be his biggest competition.

Outside of those two, it will largely depend on different factors for more people coming into the race, like Trump dropping out influencing J.D. Vance to run for US Presidency. Similarly, if Harris were to avoid taking on the role as the Democratic leader, it could mean we see a big shock and someone like Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, or somebody else step into the shoes on Biden in challenging Trump.

However, the way it is looking there is probably only two real candidates, and they are Trump and Harris. But, you could always take a punt on an outsider in hope that for some reason one of them decides to remove themselves from the race, especially with there being quite a bit of time between now and the Presidential election.

Who is Replacing Biden in Election Race?

Kamala Harris has been endorsed by Biden, but not confirmed to be in the race for the Presidential election just yet. However, looking at the odds, the fact Biden endorsed Harris, and other factors mean it's extremely likely she will be leading the Democrats in the race as the President focuses on his current role.

Harris can be found at short prices of 1/8 or 1/9 to be the Democratic candidate in the race for 2024 US Presidency, signalling she will almost certainly be taking up the role.

Harris is set to make a speech today, the 22nd July, 2024, and speak for the first time since Biden opted not to run for re-election as US President. Her speech should make things much clearer on what is going to happen, and most likely confirm her as the Democrat leader in the race.

With Biden in the race, Trump was as short as 1/3 and in some places even shorter. However, now that Harris is being touted as Biden's replacement his odds have now lengthened slightly, suggesting online bookmakers see it as much tighter than if he was to be up against Biden.

The current Vice-President will have her work cut out to turnaround the approval of the US public, and will need to put on a defiant showing when in head-to-head debates with Trump to be considered as strong enough to lead as US President, starting the end of this year.

The potential new Democratic leader will have been aware of Biden's decision before it was announced, and will have most probably had time to prepare for today's speech. But it will be interesting to see how the next US President odds unfold from here, and whether Harris can put up a fight or Donald Trump will cruise to victory later this year.
