About Davis Cup
The Davis Cup is an annual international team event run by the ITF (International Tennis Federation) and was founded in 1900. You can find all the latest Davis Cup betting odds comparison across OddsPortal.com as soon as the next round has been announced.
The tournament saw to light when four members of the Harvard University decided to challenge their British counterparts. The first ever match was held in Boston, Massachusetts and a certain Dwight Davis took part. Current Davis Cup format consists of sixteen teams playing it out in the World Group with the remaining teams competing in their regional zones. First round losers play in the World Group play-off where they take on the best regional teams. Each tie is played over three days (Friday to Sunday) as knock-out. There are two singles matches played on Friday, followed by doubles on Saturday and another set of two singles matches on Sunday.
