About Europa League

The UEFA Europa League (previously called the UEFA Cup) is the second most prestigious European football club competition. It is an annual cup competition organised by UEFA and its Europa League (UEFA Cup) betting odds and Europa League fixtures can be found on Odds Portal.

The competition began in 1971 replacing the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup was abolished and merged with the UEFA Cup in 1999 opening its door to winners of domestic cup competitions. The competition’s format was initially a knockout and group stage format was introduced only in 2004 to make the competition more attractive. The group stage brought in more matches with plenty Europa League (UEFA Cup) betting odds comparison available.

The Europa League fixtures kick off with qualifying rounds in July with best qualifiers and seeded teams making up the Europa League groups draw. Once the group stage is over the top two teams in the Europa League groups along with third-place teams in the Champions League groups enter the knock-out phase. This increaes the competition’s profile as well. Champions League drop-outs normally head the Europa League (UEFA Cup) odds to lift the trophy.
